Terms of Service

Welcome to ShedShare. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ShedShare platform at enigmatic-share-your-shed.base44.app and the related mobile application (the "Service"), operated by ShedShare ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You may delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app.

3. The Service — peer-to-peer tool sharing

ShedShare is a marketplace that connects tool owners with renters. We facilitate listings, bookings, messaging, and payments but we are not a party to the rental agreement between users. We do not own, inspect, or warrant the tools listed on the platform.

4. Listings and responsibilities

• Owners must own or be authorised to rent the tools they list and must describe them accurately.
• Owners are responsible for the condition and safe operation of their tools.
• Renters must use tools lawfully, safely, and only for their intended purpose.
• Both parties agree to coordinate pickup and return in good faith.

5. Payments, deposits, and platform fee

Rental payments and security deposits are processed by Stripe. Each booking is charged at the rate shown at checkout. ShedShare retains a 10% platform commission on each rental; the remaining 90% is paid to the tool owner. Security deposits are held to cover loss or damage and are returned to the renter when the tool is returned in acceptable condition, less any amount needed to cover verified damage or non-return.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Booking requests may be declined by the owner before approval. Approved bookings may be cancelled according to the cancellation options shown in the app. Refunds, where applicable, are processed back to the original payment method via Stripe.

7. Reviews

Users may leave reviews after a completed booking. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. We may remove reviews that are abusive, false, or otherwise violate these Terms.

8. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• List stolen, unsafe, illegal, or prohibited items.
• Misrepresent yourself, tools, or booking details.
• Attempt to circumvent payments or the platform fee.
• Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Tools are rented between users at their own risk. ShedShare is not liable for the condition, safety, or performance of any tool, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from a rental, except to the extent required by law. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the platform fee retained on the relevant booking.

10. Account suspension

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or for any other reason we determine in good faith.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
