ShedShare ("we", "us", or "our") operates the ShedShare platform at enigmatic-share-your-shed.base44.app and as a mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and suburb/address when you choose to provide them.

Listing and booking data: details of tools you list, bookings you make or receive, messages exchanged with other users, and reviews you write or receive.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles card data securely. We retain transaction records (amounts, dates, status) and a 10% platform commission is retained on each booking.

Usage data: device and browser information, app interactions, and logs used to keep the Service secure and reliable.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To facilitate tool listings, bookings, messaging, and deposits between users.
• To process rental payments and security deposits via Stripe.
• To send you notifications about your bookings, waitlist availability, and account activity.
• To provide customer support and respond to disputes.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing your information

We share information with other ShedShare users only as needed to complete bookings — for example, a tool owner sees the renter's name and pickup details, and vice versa. We share data with service providers that help us operate (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting/email providers), each under appropriate contractual obligations. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen in the app, which permanently removes your account and associated data. Some records may be retained where required by law or to resolve ongoing disputes.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe under its PCI-compliant infrastructure.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app account deletion feature or contact us at the email associated with your account.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
