Question 1

How does ShedShare work?

Accepted Answer

Search for a tool nearby, book the dates you need, and pick it up from your neighbour or get it delivered. Return it when you're done. To lend, list your tool in minutes, approve booking requests, and get paid.

Question 2

Is it safe to rent tools from strangers?

Accepted Answer

Every member is ID-verified. Each booking includes a security deposit and photo inspections at pickup and return. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Question 3

How much does ShedShare cost?

Accepted Answer

Signing up is free. Renters pay the daily or weekly rate set by the owner plus a refundable security deposit. Owners keep 90% of the rental fee; ShedShare takes a 10% platform fee.

Question 4

What happens if a tool is damaged or not returned?

Accepted Answer

Security deposits are held on every booking. If a tool comes back damaged or isn't returned, the deposit helps cover repair or replacement costs. Each case is reviewed individually.

Question 5

How do I get paid as a tool owner?

Accepted Answer

Once a booking is completed, your 90% payout is transferred to your linked bank account via Stripe Connect. New accounts have an initial 14-day payout delay as part of Stripe's verification process.

Question 6

What areas does ShedShare serve?

Accepted Answer

ShedShare is available across Australia, the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The platform is hyper-local by design.
